Our Book of Monsters

I'm working with my 10 year old students " describing people" and we decided to create a book of monsters. The first activity will take place tomorrow morning ( from 8:15 to 9:45). This will be my first experience with podcasts and teaching English. It will be exciting ... let's see :) First they have to imagine... draw and describe their monster.By the end of the week I hope to have their work to display here . I'm anxious to see their little curious faces when they open the laptop and see their work displayed in this global " shop-window ". But first I have to learn how to record their voices . So ... Paula, homework to do .

Pedagogical Potencialities

Is there anyone to help me finding interesting and meaningful approaches to this tool ? How important can it be ? What are its pedagogical potentialities ? How would you use it in a classroom ? What kind of activities would you do with your students ( aged 10 to 12) ? How can it improve your role as a teacher ... how can it motivate students ? Can it really help them to be more " competent". What competences can be developed with this approach to ESL? share your ideas. :) Note. I'll try to find more suitable images !! :)

Last weekend I attended 11th International House Symposium in Viseu - " Embracing Change". Paddy Greenleaf and Teresa's session was amazing. It was a superb experience! I've learned so many different and absolutely new things. I think that everyone should try the amount of opportunities that technology brings you as a teacher and as a communicative "being." If you want to be part of this world ... you can't be a "technophobe" :) It's really challenging...
